Resort Description
A mix of spacious and comfortable suites with a village like ambience, this beachfront hotel offers studios, junior suites, and one- and two-bedroom suites all with kitchenettes.
This resort at Rutland Point sits astride the promontory separating Long and Bloody Bays, facing Booby Cay. It is a mainly suite resort, with Mediterranean-style villas scattered throughout the landscaped grounds.
The 175 spacious, air-conditioned accommodations include studios, suites, and apartments with up to three bedrooms, ideal for families. The lodging is roomy and comfortable, and the furnishings were updated for the new millennium. All rooms have tile floors, floral prints, TVs, phones, kitchens, and balconies or patios. One child under 12 stays free in the parents' room, and an all-inclusive plan is available. Peace and seclusion are the priorities here, and Point Village delivers them!
The lobby houses shops and a beauty parlor in its wings, and a spiral staircase leads diners down to a half-moon restaurant with cast-iron tables on a terrace. A pianist plays classical music as guests savor chicken pate and seafood Newburg. Two shoreline grillsdeliver burgers and the like. One is simply done with tables and benches for casual meals, and the other is more elegant, with a terrace under a bougainvillea arbor.
The resort's dramatic, wave-pounded coral shoreline harbors small coves and beaches, including a popular nude beach awash in seaweed. Hammocks are slung between palms, and active guests have a go at the many water sports, beach volleyball, tennis court, organized bicycle rides, and picnics on Booby Cay. The pool, set into a raised deck, also offers volleyball and has a whirlpool. The social staff arranges dance classes and theme parties, and the disco is always lively. Nannies and a play area give parents a break for time alone. There is also meeting space for up to 60 people.
Point Village has made many changes to become a more fun-filled getaway, so if you haven't visited in a while, check it out -- you'll be quite surprised!
